About Peyton Shaw
Licensed Professional Counselor
Compassionate therapy grounded in evidence-based practices and genuine human connection
My Journey to Therapy
Welcome! I'm Peyton Shaw, a licensed professional counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and discover their inner strength. My journey into therapy began with a simple belief: everyone deserves a safe space to be heard, understood, and supported.
With over a decade of experience in mental health counseling, I've had the privilege of working with diverse clients facing various challenges—from anxiety and depression to major life transitions and relationship difficulties. Each person's story has reinforced my commitment to providing personalized, compassionate care.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey. My role is not to have all the answers, but to walk alongside you as you discover your own path to healing and growth. Together, we'll explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a judgment-free environment where you can be authentically yourself.
My Therapeutic Approach
I integrate evidence-based practices with a warm, person-centered approach. My therapeutic style draws from:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns
Mindfulness-Based Techniques
Developing present-moment awareness and acceptance
Solution-Focused Therapy
Building on your strengths to create positive change
Trauma-Informed Care
Creating safety and healing for past experiences

A Personal Note
I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting. It takes courage to seek support, and I want to honor that courage by providing the best possible care. Whether you're dealing with a specific challenge or simply feeling stuck, I'm here to help.
My practice is built on the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth and healing. Sometimes we just need someone to sit with us in our struggles and help us see the path forward. I would be honored to be that person for you.
